National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. Plus, the benefits your community will derive from NNO will most certainly extend well beyond the one night.
Nation Night Out began in 1984 as an idea presented by the National Association of Town Watch. The purpose is to heighten awareness and strengthen participation in local anticrime efforts. It's a wonderful opportunity for communities nationwide to promote police-community partnerships, crime prevention, and neighborhood camaraderie. While the one night is certainly not an answer to crime, drugs and violence, National Night Out does represent the kind of spirit, energy and determination that is helping to make many neighborhoods safer places throughout the year.
In 2015, National Night Out is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th in the park in Swanton. We hope you can join us!
